Brief Histroy: UDUSOK is a four-year university that also features Associate's degrees and remedial programs (pre-degree). The university has a large and accredited medical program and the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto, which is one of the largest hospitals in Nigeria and West Africa. It is mostly accessible to those of low income and, like most Nigerian hospitals, it does not require health insurance before treatment. There is a fourth site built during the last administration Bafarawa of Sokoto State under the Leadership of Alh. Attahiru Bafarawa. This site houses the School of Matriculation Studies where students opting for the Remedial Studies are admitted and taught before enrollment in the university (provided they have passed the exams). The Remedial Studies is only conducted for the Sciences and Science related courses. Admission into other courses is sought by the standard JAMB (UME or DE) procedure.
