Brief Histroy: Gateway (ICT)polytechnic, Igbesa was established by ogun state Government [Otunba Gbenga Daniel Administration] in year 2006 to provide technical education for the people of Ogun state in particular and Nigerians at large. This is in furtherance of the fact that the development of science and technology institute a key point of the process of moclarisation and to produce Ondyemons capacities both at middle-level and top-level. Since its inception, the polytechnic has been proving its mettel, growing in leaps and bounds. It has a pride of make as one of the frontline tertiary institution in Nigeria today. The centre for part-time studies(CPS) was created in 2009 after due consideration and approval by the Government council aid the academic Board of the polytechnic with the following objective. . To bring polytechnic education particularly to the doorsteps of those who are willing to extend the frontiers of their intellectual knowledge for career advancement, promotion, enhanced status, efficient/effective business management, but could not leave their jobs and business for full-time regular academic programmed. . To ease off the stress of attending to a vast number of candidates by the polytechnic staff . To minimize undue overstretch of the polytechnics capacity by the huge and rising number of candidates seeking admission every year. . To eradicate or minimize cultism, drug addiction, and other unhealthy lifestyles prevalent among students in the main campus, and . To polish the polytechnics ever-shining image and improve on its worthiness as an institution that students can proudly refer to as their alma matter.
